BAE systems with the RAF and the Royal Navy

Last Tuesday afternoon the BAE systems roadshow captured the attention of all year 8 with their 70cm high android talking, thinking and sensing robot that showed just how advanced robotics can be as well as being literally blown away by the wind force of a paramotor.

Inspiring students to be involved STEM subjects, the roadshow mainly focussed on the importance of maths. Pupils were involved in a number of challenges like predicting where a heavy metal ball would land in the drainpipe challenge and using mathematical skills to balance aircrafts on the Queen Elizabeth aircraft carrier.
