Jack Straw Visit

On Thursday 30th January, sixth form students were invited to Blackburn Youth Zone to discuss the impact of deprivation, austerity, Brexit and the newly elected Government within the Borough.

The event was hosted by a panel of Rt Hon Jack Straw, Chairman of Blackburn Youth Zone; Sir Kevin Collins, CEO of the Youth Endowment Fund; Dominic Harrison, BwD Director of Public Health; Mohammed Isap - Chairman of Tauheedul Boys and a trustee for Star Academies and Carla Passarello, Senior Manager of DWP.

The event was very thought provoking for students, giving them an insight into wider issues within the Borough. After the event, students were lucky enough to spend time with Jack Straw and ask him questions about his early career and experiences in politics.
